Tiger Chinese Scroll Painting – Silk Wall Art – Pine Tree Moon

The pine tree moon theme is the heart of this tiger scroll painting, and it beats steadily. The palette stays measured, favoring harmony over display. It belongs with the best of timeless asian wall art, the sort that settles into a room from day one.

From a high cleft the waterfall descends, a ribbon of light in the gloom. Collectors will linger on the pine tree, rendered here with unforced detail. The meticulous gongbi technique shows in every controlled outline and flat wash of color. The moon rides high in the composition, a pale disc of quiet light. There is an unhurried rhythm to the brushwork that sets the tone of the whole piece.

As classical chinese brush painting, it asks for nothing more than a good wall and soft light. A piece like this asks little and gives back steadily. A simple hook is all the hardware it needs.
