Landscape Chinese Scroll Painting – Silk Wall Art – Pine Trees Bridge

This landscape scroll painting renders the pine trees bridge theme with the poise of the old masters. The painter trusts suggestion over statement, letting the viewer complete the picture. It belongs with the best of feng shui home decor, the sort that settles into a room from day one.

Tiny boats dot the river, each one a few strokes of the brush. Layer upon layer of mountains builds the picture's depth. Atmospheric mist gives the scene its depth and its dreamlike calm. The picture lives in its ink wash, tonal rather than colorful, and richer for it. Against the silk ground, the bridge reads clearly at any distance. Here the pine trees takes its place in the composition's larger rhythm. From the pavilion's terrace, the whole painted world seems to unfold. White water cuts a vertical path through the mountains, impossible to ignore.

Collectors of timeless asian wall art will recognize the vocabulary at once: restraint, balance, and a feel for the natural world. It brings the outside world in, in the quietest way possible. It makes a gracious gift for weddings and new homes.
